New Kayak Polo For Beginners!
Aug. 4, 2012
None of the hoity-toity of riding crops, horses and dung on the field, KAYAK POLO is a very popular and highly entertaining sport and a whole lot less smelly. Join White Squall staff and our friends (who are real Kayak Polo teammates bringing real Kayak Polo boats!) for a fundraising event for Habitat for Humanity. For just $80 you will be taught good strokes for Kayak Polo, introduced to hand-rolling, get a lunch, and follow-up with an afternoon of fun and games.
Kayak Polo (Known as Canoe Polo outside of North America) - Canoe Polo, a spectacular and rapidly growing discipline of the International Canoe Federation, is unlike other Canoe sports. Canoe Polo is a game of two halves of 10 minutes where two teams of 5 players battle it out in kayaks with a water polo ball. The aim is to score into a goal, which is suspended above the water at each end of a rectangular ‘playing pitch’. Matches are controlled by referees and the fast, explosive action from players encompasses a wide range of canoeing skills including the Eskimo roll.
