Getting Young People Active on the Water
White Squall has provided a wide range of school training programmes for staff and students of schools, camps, colleges and universities across Ontario for over 26 years. The heart of what we do is get kids safely on the water in stable lake kayaks or canoes. We keep the cost of this and our own youth trips/clinics as low as we can to get young people outside in the fresh air!
Overview
For elementary and high school groups we run a full, fun and wet half day session of paddling and games focussed on water safety skills, using stable, open kayaks. Following national standards of instruction, the emphasis will be on giving students a safe start in learning lifelong paddling skills. You can stay all day and and friendly chickens are on duty for noontime entertainment. Full day programmes include two-part clinics where we partner with the Killbear Park Naturalist Programme or Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve to provide exciting workshops on Reptiles at Risk – often with live snake demonstrations!
