"Dave & I stopped in at your Parry Sound store & found a couple of great Marmot & North Face rain jackets  We had to put them to the test a few times during a holiday in Sicily & they came through with flying colours."

Christine and Graham were away in Collingwood the first week of June running a staff training course for FreeSpirit Tours - a Paddle Canada Level 1 and Intro to Kayak Instructor course - the group was great (mostly all ski and snowboard instructors and rock climbers) and the weather was fabulous and sunny.
  • Tim Dyer and guest instructor David Wells (Naturally Superior Adventures) are out on the Bay with four keen instructor candidates on a Level 2 Instructor course
  • Staff from YMCA Camp Echo from Michigan State roll into the Paddle Centre this week for a day of kayak and guide training before heading out on their own staff trip on the Bay.  They will be back later in the summer to take kids out on the Bay.

June 13/14 weekend takes us in all sorts of different directions:
  • Jack and Kaitlin are preparing for a four day Paddle Canada Level 2 Skill Kayak course that takes them out on trip on Georgian Bay.
  • Aleesha and Tim head to Shawanaga Inlet to teach at the GLSKA (Great Lakes Sea Kayak Association)  Rendezvous Event, talking about trip leadership, trip planning and on water coaching.
  • Kevin and Christine are off to teach kayaking on the shores of Lake Ontario, Sunnyside Beach Park in Toronto for MEC's Paddlefest Weekend.
  • Mountain Equipment Co-op Paddlefest in June in Toronto

Other fun kayak stuff includes:
June , a tranquil time to paddle Georgian Bay.... Heather and friends just arrived back from a week of sunny weather kayaking out on the Mink and McCoy Islands - our favourite spot on the Bay.  Jack and a friend also spent some time out and back from Byng Inlet, exploring the area to the south of Byng and Norgate Inlet.  Both groups saw only a few motor boats and no other people, campers or paddlers - a wonderful time of season camping on the bay - no people and no bugs beating the summer crowds.....
