Paddling Rentals

Welcome. We rent kayaks, canoes & stand-up paddleboards from our Paddling Store North of Nobel. We also carry Georgian Bay maps & charts and are happy to help with trip planning. If you only need to rent gear ~ see below for equipment we offer, to get you into the big outdoors.

How does it Work?

1. Submit a request.
2. We'll review it & get back to you. * Safety is key. We might decline your rental and suggest taking instruction before you head out on your adventure.
3. Requesting a shuttle? (extra cost and based on availability) Please check our shuttle rates here: Shuttle Service
4. We ask for a 2-day minimum for rentals. Day rentals on site are not available. We may consider one day off site rentals, but you will need to call our paddling centre to confirm availability and to arrange the booking (it cannot be done online). There is a $10 per boat additional fee for one day rentals.
5. Unless your rentals are being shuttled, you must be able to secure your rental safely to your vehicle. Straps, ropes and foam blocks are provided. We can help you with the tie down.
6. If you need a rental within 24 hrs, please call us at 705-203-2955 and we will do our best to set you up.

Notes About Shuttles

• Must be arranged well in advance! Call us us for a quote based on your party size, drop-off & pick-up location.
• Dependent on staff & vehicle availability.
• Limited parking available at White Squall, at owner's risk ~ $ 8/vehicle per day.

Kayak/Canoe Rental Rates

DAILY rates based on a 2 day minimum. Includes lifejacket, paddle (plus spare), safety gear (except waterproof flashlight) & foams/straps to transport. HST extra & prices may change without notice. Daily rentals may be arranged but there is a $10 per boat premium added to the rate.

Special Notes:

Location

• Rental pick-up is at White Squall Paddling Centre, 53 East Carling Bay Rd, Nobel, ON ~ 15 mins north of Parry Sound. 
• You must transport your rental (foams, straps and ropes are provided) UNLESS a shuttle (extra fee) has been arranged.
• Pick-up 9:00 - 5:00, 7 days a week. Early or late pickups must be arranged in advance.

Rates

• Rates based on the calendar day, not hourly. I.E. Noon until Noon the next day is a 2 day rental.

Transportation

• Our lake is landlocked. You'll need to properly transport rentals to your paddling launch site.
• We provide straps & foam blocks for transportation, as part of each rental.
• You are responsible for your tie down ~it is your load and your responsibility
• We highly discourage using ratchet straps as overtightening can crack a boat

Rental Conditions

• We ask for a 50% deposit, once your rental is approved.
• If you cancel within 14 days of rental, we charge $45/boat.
• Cancellation on first day of rental, no refund, as we have lost the chance to rent those boats.
• No refunds are issued for early returns.
• Safety is key. If we think you're unprepared, we'll decline your rental & suggest taking instruction.
• Renters are completely responsible for our equipment until it returns to us in good condition.

Canoes are supplied with:

• Lifejackets
• Paddles (plus a spare if you like)
• Throw bag
• Bailer
• Foam blocks, straps & ropes to secure it to your vehicle.

Gear Rentals

We rent a whole range of gear, lifejackets, VHF radios, etc. though have limited quantities of some of these items. Please touch base, and we'll do our best to get you properly outfitted. We do not rent tents or sleeping bags.
