This 2.5 day course goes beyond the basics in sea kayaking to provide you the skills to comfortably undertake a day trip in relatively sheltered, calm waters. You’ll develop solid kayak rescue skills and enhance key paddling/bracing strokes. Practical navigation, weather interpretation and safe travel for sheltered waters is introduced with lots of guided practice time. Paddle Canada certification is optional; learning new stuff will happen regardless, and you’ll be happily engaged with a whole new set of paddling and safe travel skills.
Our instructors are enthusiastic and skilled teachers who employ a variety of techniques to enhance your learning experience. Approachable and generous with their time, you’ll be sure to have full days and ample opportunities to improve your paddling.
