Free Sunday Paddles

We are trying something a bit different and it seems to be quite popular.  C’mon out Sunday morn from 10:00-11:30 and enjoy a leisurely paddle around the shores of mighty Cole Lake.  We’ll have hot drinks, conversation and an amazing paddle waiting for you – anyone can come-but ya gotta tell us in advance as there are limited spots.  Canoe or Kayak – no matter as they both have pointy ends and a middle – and we have lots here!  705-342-5324

Level 1 Paddle Canada Kayak Skills  June 9/10

Our flagship kayak course that gives you a solid foundation in kayak skills in a fun-filled weekend.  We spend Saturday here on our quiet lake, then Sunday we head out to the islands of the Bay to try out our basic navigation, safety and paddling skills.  There are a couple of spots left at the moment, so just holler and we’ll sign you up!

Franklin Challenge – Sunday June 24

Don’t miss this day.  We all gather down at Snug Harbour early and paddle out to  and around the prettiest island in Georgian Bay.  It’s 20km, so not a stroll in the park – but most can do it.  Especially if you use a tandem, they are way easier.  Regardless – the event is all in support of cleaning up and looking after this island and her surrounding waters and islets – they have a special place in all our hearts.  For more info and to register:  http://www.whitesquall.com/franklin-challenge/

Summer Tune-ups for All Ages

Call us anytime to find out what lessons, events and generally wet things we are planning for all of us to get outside on the water.  It’s a Canadian thing to do so you may as well get with the program.  And by the way, you can come anytime and paddle almost any boat – for FREE.  We may provide some cautions and seat of the pant coaching, but basically you can “have a go”.  And “having a go” is what it is all about.

Tim’s Tip

Just returned from a Canoe Trip Leader course in Ottawa and was blown away by the committed, talented folks taking young people out on multi-day trips throughout our province.  Don’t ever let anyone tell you that Outdoor Education is dead in conservative old Ontario.  There is a whole new energy out there and things are happening.  My tip is to encourage it in every way you can – because getting people outside is our only salvation in this nutty world.  The more we connect with the outside, the less anxiety and stress in all of us, but especially our young people.  And last time I checked, they are the ones to get us out of this planetary mess we are in.

Had enough?  Just hit reply and put “enuff timbo”  and we’ll take you off the list.

If you can’t get enough – tell us and we’ll keep ’em coming!

Happy long weekend everyone…tim
