Group kayak lesson

Course Description

The extended course provides a solid base for those that want to comfortably play and trip in open waters like Georgian Bay. With lots of time to practice your boat handling and rescues in ‘real’ conditions, you’ll find your skills progress rapidly. As well, we spend time improving and broadening our base of rescue techniques including self, assisted and towing practice. The environment becomes the teacher in this course and we’ll find locations that safely and progressively challenge you; Georgian Bay naturally provides this kind of setting.

Considerable time spent on map reading and route finding and other navigational techniques, weather, and risk management you will develop a firm skill set that allows you to make good and safe decisions about how to travel in slightly more complicated waters than Level-1 calls for.

Our instructors are keen paddlers and enthusiastic paddlers with a variety of ways of enhancing your skills and knowledge. We’ll make the learning fun and engaging and are frequently available to help you individually.
