2022 – if you’re interest in a course, email [email protected] and we will sign you up to Tim’s Hoot Newsletter, which will announce any course offerings.
These courses are ideal for those that want to move beyond our lessons and get a little deeper immersion (pardon the pun) into sea kayaking. Whether you’re intent on certification or not, these courses are full of useful information and knowledge to allow you to safely enjoy your excursions no matter where you paddle. All of our courses spend time on Georgian Bay where there is no better classroom and allow you to test the waters and gain new experiences and knowledge.
Level-1 Sheltered Waters Day Tripping
This 2-day course goes beyond the basics in sea kayaking to provide you the skills to comfortably undertake a day trip in relatively sheltered, calm waters. You’ll develop solid kayak rescue skills and enhance key paddling/bracing strokes.

Level-2 Open Water Paddling
The extended course provides a solid base for those that want to comfortably play and trip in open waters like Georgian Bay. With lots of time to practice your boat handling and rescues in ‘real’ conditions, you’ll find your skills progress rapidly.

Level-3 Open Water Leadership
This extended course further enhances the skills and techniques learned in Level-2 but adds a focus on leadership. You will develop skills in group awareness and management and safe travel that will enable you to help a group of colleagues or like paddlers make safe decisions about where, when and how to paddle in open waters.
